Job Title: Program and Events Manager
Status: Full-Time; Exempt
Reports to: Executive Director
Mission: To develop recreation opportunities for people with disabilities living in and visiting the Greater Teton Area.
Job Summary – Support the mission of Teton Adaptive by coordinating year-round outdoor recreational activities for individuals with disabilities. Plan and facilitate Teton Adaptive’s partnership and in-house programs such as nordic skiing, paddling, mountain biking, alpine skiing, sled hockey, etc. The Program and Events Manager is responsible for a wide range of duties including program/event planning and logistics, volunteer and participant recruitment, scheduling and communication, post-program reporting, database upkeep, equipment management, as well as overseeing seasonal staff. This position is often the first point of contact for Teton Adaptive’s volunteers, participants, family members, community members, and partner organizations. It requires keen attention to detail with top-notch customer service skills. The Program and Events Manager’s time will be split between planning and executing the activities Teton Adaptive provides.
Responsibilities:
- Manage the delivery of Teton Adaptive’s activities, including program planning, staffing, volunteers, event logistics, equipment, and evaluation.
- Develop and maintain relationships with community partners within goals of Teton Adaptive’s development and marketing plan.
- Provide instruction or assistance in various adaptive sports and adaptive recreational programs such as skiing, snowboarding, cross country skiing, cycling, mountain biking, hiking, camping, sled hockey and paddling.
- Ensure that safety remains Teton Adaptive’s primary goal by following all risk management procedures.
- Assist staff in compiling information, statistics, and materials needed for the Teton Adaptive’s direct service delivery, promotions, grants and database management.
- Drive Teton Adaptive’s vehicles and equipment trailers for the delivery of partners programs and other direct service activities.
- Be a positive representative and promoter of Teton Adaptive programs, events and activities, including acting as an ‘adaptive concierge’ by responding to visitors’ trip planning requests for adaptive activities suggestions via email or phone.
- Comply with Teton Adaptive’s safety and health policies and procedures.
- Other duties as identified.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Two years of outdoor recreation leadership experience.
- Two years of management experience; or professional experience with increasing responsibilities
- Professional experience planning and delivering group programming.
- Minimum of two years of experience cycling, mountain biking, skiing, snowboarding, or other outdoor recreation.
- Two years of experience working with people with disabilities.
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communications skills.
- Ability to work flexible hours; evening and weekend work required.
- Ability to accommodate multi-day events or travel.
- Valid Driver’s License with clean driving record.
- Pass Wyoming state background check.
- Current First Aid card and CPR training (or willingness to obtain as soon as possible).
Salary: $50,000-$55,000
Hours: Dependent on program schedule. Evening and weekend work required.
