TAS recently held the 2nd and final Paddle Day at String Lake in Grand Teton National Park. Paddle Days have become the most popular of TAS Summer Adventure Days, with over 50 people enticed by another amazing Jackson Hole summer day and the chance to try out a variety of watercraft. The big hit this session was the debut of Supsquatch, a giant sized stand up paddle board. As with all TAS Paddle Days, instructors and watercraft were donated by Rendezvous River Sports and food donated by the great folks at Snake River Brewing.
Teton Adaptive Sports had a great two days on the South Fork of the Snake River with Thomas, Brendan, and Kevin. As you can tell from the photo above, Kevin was psyched to hang up his wheelchair for the afternoon and captain the boat down the beautiful horseshoe shaped canyon on the Snake River. All the boys had a blast roasting marshmallows around the fire, rowing the boat themselves, and enjoying the spectacular scenery. Fun was had by all and there is already talk of doing the trip again next year!!!
Last weeks 2013 !st Adaptive Paddle Day at String Lake in Grand Teton National Park was outstanding! People of all ages and abilities turned out experience a variety of water crafts- single and tandem kayaks, Hobie peddle boats, stand up paddle boards, even a 13Ft raft- something for everyone. Instruction and boats courtesy of Rendezvous River Sports and food donated by the Brew Pub. This year, Push Americas Journey Of Hope- a ride across America to raise funds and awareness for people with disabilities was on hand to help out and contribute to a great day. TAS has received grnt support for TAS Summer Adventure Days for the past several years. Looking forward to 2nd Paddle Day in August- in the meantime, if anyone wants to get out on the water- give us a shout!
Recently TAS hosted its 2nd Paddle Day of Summer 2012 at String Lake in Grand Teton National Park. A variety of paddle kayaks, peddle kayaks, stand up paddle boards, and a 14 ft oar powered raft were available for all to experience. Equipment and instruction was provided compliments of Rendezvous River Sports, lunch was provided compliments of Snake River Brewing, prepared by TAS friend and supporter Pete Hughes. What a great way to wind down summer activities. Thanks everyone for coming out!
TAS recently offered up the 2nd annual overnight outing rafting on the South Fork of the Snake River. 3 rafts carried 12 people and Falcor the black lab down the river, camping for 1 night mid journey. Participants enjoyed traditional camping accommodations, food, and camaraderie. Thanks to TAS Summer Program Manager Ryan Burke, Chad Brown, and Jason Malczyk for putting together this adventure!
On another blustery day in the Tetons over 40 individuals attended the 1st paddle day of Summer 2012. It wasn’t swimming weather so it was fortunate that no one took a spill, even on the stand up paddle boards! Lunch was provided courtesy of Pete Hughes and the Snake River Brew Pub. Watercraft and paddling instruction courtesy of Aaron Pruzan of Rendezvous River Sports. Thanks to Grand Teton National Park. Join TAS for the next paddle day in August.
