Adaptive Bikes Available

TAS gave the Horstmann family the opportunity to get out on the bike trails around Teton Village over Labor Day weekend.  Two members of the family were visiting from NYC and were able to enjoy the trails and the beauty of the surrounding Tetons with the recumbent tricycle and the hand-cycle.  They had seen a flier in 2011 for the TAS program and remembered it for their trip this year.  TAS offers a great opportunity for those with disabilities who are traveling to participate in the amazing outdoor activities of the Jackson area.

3rd Annual TAS Bike Rally & Family BBQ

TAS recently held its 3rd annual Bike Rally and Family BBQ. Participants got to demo a variety of adaptive cycles including several handcycles and trikes. There was riding skills practiced, timed runs on the obstacle course, and a group ride on the Cottonwood bike path. A delicious traditional cookout with hot dogs, burgers, ice cold watermelon and lemonade. Team Jackson Hole was on hand to help out as were a number of TAS regular volunteers and family members. Thanks everyone for a fun afternoon!

About that bike ride and ice cream…

A handful of hearty souls braved a typical Wyoming early June day for the TAS Wilson bike ride and ice cream social. After waiting out rain, sleet, hail, and 20 mph winds, there was a break in the weather and everyone mounted up and headed out. TAS riders were joined by members of Team Jackson Hole for the sprint to the Wilson Firehouse and back. Spirits remained high even as the storm circled around for more. Who says you can’t enjoy some ice cream and all the fixins hunkered in sweatshirts, raincoats, and down jackets?

Team Jackson Hole Is Back!

Team Jackson Hole will again support Teton Adaptive Sports with raising awareness and encouraging donations through Old Bill’s Fun Run Run for Charities. Team JH is a local cycling club with a philanthropic mission- to support local non profits with fundraising and development. Last year Team JH provided TAS with a newspaper ad campaign, solicited donations personally and through their website, attended TAS cycling events, and offered website and other tech support. TAS looks forward to partnering with this great group of athletes again this summer. Thanks Team JH!
